K. Zabolotny of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Two models of in vivo infectious and inflammatory processes were developed on BALB/c mice, namely, a model of staphylococcal vaginitis caused by Staphylococcus aureus strain 8325-4, as well as a model of chronic inflammation caused by diet-induced obesity. The effects of cell-free metabolites of probiotic strains of Lactobacillus, Bifidobacterium, lyophilized cellular biomass and/or prebiotic substances in vivo on the microbiome, biochemical indicators and the state of immunity under conditions of physiological norm and infectious-inflammatory process were determined on the above models, as well as on the physiological norm model. Based on the results of the project, probiotic bacteria, their metabolites and prebiotic substances (cerium dioxide nanoparticles) were selected and characterized in detail in terms of their activity spectrum for the creation of the drug and further introduction into production, intended for the personalized correction of microbiome-associated infectious and/or inflammatory pathologies. New knowledge was obtained about the role of the microbiome, biochemical and physiological bases of the development of inflammatory and infectious processes. Scientifically based approaches to the creation of pro-pre- and post-biotic preparations for targeted correction of the microbiome and immune disorders in infectious and inflammatory diseases have been developed. Two strains of probiotic microorganisms have been deposited in the Depository of D.K. Zabolotny Institute of Microbiology and Virology of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine, laboratory regulations for the cultivation of probiotic microorganisms in the presence of cerium dioxide nanoparticles in the cultivation medium was developed for further industrial production.
