Subbotin name popup.description2  The aim of the project is to identify variations in the magnetic parameters proved in the Quaternary loess-soil deposits of the south of Ukraine, related to palaeoenvironmental conditions during their formation, and the applicability of these indicators to reconstruction of palaeoclimate. Combined investigation of reference Pleistocene sections of the Black Sea Lowland – one of the the main (but not enough studied) loess regions in Europe – is proposed to conduct. Landscape-climatic reconstructions for the past will be reproduced using a significant number of methods: rock magnetic, magneto-mineralogical, palaeomagnetic and magnetostratigraphic. The amplitude of palaeoclimatic change established by magnetic indicators will be compared with those of the global oxygen-isotope scale, and also with the results of lithological-pedological and palynological studies on the stratigraphically complete sections of southern Ukraine. The data indicating palaeoclimate dynamics will be integrated into global databases, which will help with the reconstruction of global and regional forecasts of future climate changes in the future.
