The negative trend in the work of large construction enterprises during 2010-2018 proves the relevance of a detailed analysis of such an indicator as loss of equity in order to identify factors that have the greatest negative effect. The object of the study is the impact of operational, investment, and financial activities on the loss of equity capital of large Ukrainian construction enterprises in comparison of 2018 with 2013 according to the well-known method of the DuPont firm. Using the DuPont method to analyze the unprofitability of the construction industry allows for a more in-depth analysis of the factors that affected the performance of all large construction enterprises. It was found that the loss of own capital is influenced by the reduction of uncovered profit and the reduction of financial dependence (the coefficient of financial dependence increased from 34.96 in 2013 to -19.213 in 2018) of large construction enterprises. And this indicates a gradual washing out of the equity of construction enterprises, an increase in the level of risk, and a decrease in their financial stability. The use of the analog object method is not reliable because the qualification of the author of estimated calculations is limited, as a rule, by a small number of projects of such analog objects in a specific project enterprise.
