Composite scintillators based on grains of grown crystals have been created. Studies of optical transmittance, luminescence, light output, decay time and features of light collection have been carried out. The light output of composite scintillators (5x5x2 mm) based on LuYAG:Ce and YAG:Ce,Ca crystals with a grain size of 0.3-0.5 mm is within 85-95% of single crystals of the same chemical composition and linear size. The decay time is almost unchanged, within the measurement error. The luminescence and absorption spectra of these samples of composite scintillators have the shape of the spectra of single crystals. The optimal sizes of grains for creating composite scintillators based on LuYAG:Ce and YAG:Ce,Ca crystals are 0.3–2.0 mm. Product Description popup.authors Kofanov Denys О. Krech Anton V.
