The project is implemented by two authors, and it allows to deeply and comprehensively analyze the phenomenon under study in a wide range of its historical, domestic, ritual and ideological manifestations. The main attention is paid to the scientific characteristics of the stereotypical perception of the concept of disaster in the context of collective and personal experience of significant social upheavals that took place in different periods in the history of the Ukrainian people. Also, for the first time, attention is paid to the study of worldviews and treatment of small daily troubles, which, in general, did not have significant socio-economic or even significant family life impact, realized primarily on a personal level. Four chapters of the collective monograph were prepared: 1) "Failed bread, then life will fail": defects and deviations of baking in the context of domestic problems; 2) "Glum bread -light for teeth": traditional ideas about the harmful and dangerous effects of unsuccessful and non-standard bread on human health and life; 3) "I followed the water...": traditional ways of searching for the body of a drowned person and their attributive-character dimension; 4) "There is no happiness without health": folk ideas of Ukrainians in Eastern Polissya about diseases.
