Yanovsky National academy of medical sciences of Ukraine" popup.description2  The object of the study is 55 children who have suffered from COVID-19 and have a history of recurrent and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases. The purpose of the work is to develop an algorithm for the management of children with recurrent and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases to prevent possible adverse consequences caused by COVID-19. Research methods are clinical, questionnaire, mathematical, statistical. The clinical features of the course of COVID-19 were established, manifested by cough in 92.0%, fever and intoxication syndrome - 84.0%, shortness of breath - 48.0%, headache - 40.0%, abdominal pain - 16.0% %, nausea and vomiting – 12.0% of patients. A 2-fold higher level of ESR, a 1.8-fold higher level of rod-shaped neutrophils, and a 3-fold higher level of CRP were determined in patients with a severe course compared to a moderate course of COVID-19. In 48.0% of patients, changes in the lungs were detected according to the radiography of OHP, in 41.6% of cases - bilateral changes. When evaluating the effectiveness of the treatment of COVID-19 in children with recurrent and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases, it was determined that 64.0% of patients received antibiotic therapy, while the parenteral route of antibiotic administration was found to be 8 times more frequent in severe cases of COVID-19. Systemic glucocorticosteroids were used in 16.0% of patients. Patients with a severe course required oxygen therapy and a stay in the intensive care unit in 37.5% of cases. It was established that the duration of treatment is 1.6 times longer in patients with a severe course of COVID-19. A method of detecting post-covid syndrome in children with recurrent and chronic bronchopulmonary diseases by conducting a questionnaire was developed, which allows establishing post-covid syndrome in 13.3% of patients. This makes it possible to take timely measures to correct the consequences of COVID-19.
