Mathematical models have been developed to describe the processes of adsorption and ion exchange in a column-type apparatus for the sorption processes of single- and multi-component solutions. The results of applying adsorption processes in the chemical industry are presented. Adsorption of the most common pollutants in a column-type apparatus with their simultaneous presence was studied. A mathematical apparatus was developed to describe adsorption processes in a column-type apparatus that considers adsorption. The dynamics of sorption of various substances in the apparatus with a stationary layer of sorbent was studied; mathematical models of the dynamics of the processes of adsorption and ion exchange extraction of ammonium from the liquid phase were developed. The dynamics of parallel sorption of the components of a two-component mixture were studied using the example of adsorption of heavy metals. The dynamics of low-concentration copper ion adsorption on natural zeolite were studied, and the results of the experimental study were presented with the original curves. Mathematical models for two stages of adsorption are proposed, namely the formation of the concentration front in the adsorbent layer and its movement.
