Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  Based on the examination of 68 patients with abdominal obesity, 20% of these people were found to have a metabolically healthy form of this pathology. Analysis of anamnestic data indicates the leading role of aggravated heredity for obesity in relation to its development in adulthood. It has been established that the leading factors in the progression of obesity in most patients are stressful situations and lifestyle changes, including a decrease in the intensity of physical activity. Regardless of the form of obesity, significantly increased levels of insulinemia and the degree of insulin resistance were determined in all patients. At the same time, in patients with metabolically healthy obesity these indicators were significantly lower than those in people with metabolically unhealthy obesity. Eating disorders were also proven in 94.7% of patients, regardless of the form of obesity. More significant disturbances in eating behavior were observed in patients with metabolically unhealthy obesity. At the same time, both groups were dominated by individuals with emotional eating behavior, and the high percentage of patients with external eating behavior disorders in both groups should be considered as the main factor in the development of obesity, regardless of the form of this pathology. The main results of the research were reported at scientific and practical conferences, as well as highlighted in 2 articles and implemented in the educational process of the Department of Internal Medicine of the Medical Faculty of Kharkiv National University named after V. N. Karazin. The obtained results of the research work were used in the preparation of the methodological recommendations "Management of a patient with metabolic syndrome" for VI students in preparation for practical classes in the discipline "Internal Medicine with Infectious Diseases and Phthisiology ".
