Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description2  The main goal of the work is to obtain fluorochromic ligands for binding radionuclide ions in the process of their accumulation by the extraction method, and the formation of complexes with metal ions should lead to changes in the fluorescent characteristics of the ligand. The final goal of the research is the development of a new method of fluorescent control of the concentration of radionuclides before radiometric determination of their activity. The general fundamental problem, the solution of which is aimed at the researches, is the development of a new methodological approach to the analysis of radionuclides, which includes the simultaneous use of the two most sensitive methods – fluorescence spectroscopy and radiometry The first stage of the research is the quantum-chemical design of fluorescent ligands capable of complexing with divalent metal ions, as well as the synthesis and investigation of the structure of promising natural and new fluorescent ligands, as well as their semi- products. On the basis of quantum chemical calculations, the most likely structure of flavonol complexes – one of the promising classes of ligands, which is planned to be used for binding, concentration and further determination of doubly charged metal cations, was estimated. The structure of polymer matrices, which are planned to be used at the final stage of concentration for rapid determination of radionuclides, was analyzed, too. Syntheses of important natural and new promising ligands based on chromone, flavone, thiazole derivatives and α-amino acid systems have been carried out.
