The goal of the project is to establish the factors that determine the catalytic activity of composites based on graphene, graphene-like materials, compounds of 3d-metals in the processes of hydrogenation, oxidation, carbonylation and carboxylation of organic compounds using CO and CO2, as well as C–H activation of alkanes; the creation of effective catalysts for such processes and the development of a methodology for carrying out the specified reactions that will meet the requirements of green chemistry; the use of developed procedures for the synthesis of useful intermediates and building blocks for the needs of medicinal chemistry. Methods of investigation: LCMS spectroscopy, gas GCMS spectroscopy, NMR spectroscopy on 1 Н, 13С, 19F nuclei, 2D NMR spectroscopy, elemental, powder X-ray, single-crystal X-ray analyses, scanning electron and transmission electron microscopies. The main result of the research is the discovery of 2 very promising catalytic systems based on cobalt and palladium, but with a significantly less amount of substance, which have significant prospects to replace industrial analogues currently used. A methodology for determining the quality of catalysts using physicochemical methods of analysis of the reaction mixture of the model hydrogenation reaction is proposed. Methods of scaling previously hard-to-reach and, accordingly, high-cost catalysts have been proposed. The effectiveness of using the quinoline model for activity research and the search for new catalysts is shown. Important results were obtained in the study of the hydrogenation reaction and in the development of methods for obtaining model quinolines, annelated saturated, benzo- and heteropyridines.
