The issues of the historical memory formation and manifestations in the context of the urban monumental and memorial space construction, the increase in the amount of historical information on the Internet, and the prospects of memoirs to overcome manipulations around the Ukrainian past have been studied. The potential of historical science in forming collective representations about the past and preventing manipulative technologies regarding key issues of Ukrainian history has been analyzed. Methodological recommendations for improving lecture courses and preparing textbooks have been developed. The novelty of the research results: - the features of the information warfare regarding the Ukrainian past have been determined; - a comparative analysis of the monumental and memorial space of the cities of Donetsk and Vinnytsia has been carried out; - the peculiarities of memoir sources of the history of Donbas and the 1917-1921 Ukrainian National Revolution and their memory potential have been revealed; - the scope of representation of the Cossacks topic on the Internet has been studied; - the representation of the figure of Stepan Bandera in information warfare has been analyzed. The research results were published in a collective monograph, scientific articles in specialized scholarly journals, reports at all-Ukrainian and international conferences, and student publications.
