 The object of the study is international and national mechanisms and tools for preventing and countering corruption, as well as political elites in Ukraine. The purpose of the work is to ensure the development of the scientific direction "Social Sciences" by conducting fundamental research on the topic: "Anti-corruption research for the sustainability of anti-corruption reforms", which includes the following areas: - research of global practices of preventing and countering corruption and clarifying the possibilities of their implementation in Ukraine; - analysis of national legislation in order to develop proposals for improving anti-corruption policy and existing anti-corruption tools and mechanisms; - research of political elites using the method of network analysis. These directions will contribute to the development of specific directions for improving the existing national anti-corruption legislation and bringing it into line with EU legislation, the development of specific ways of solving existing problems in the field of anti-corruption policy and tools for preventing and countering corruption, forming an idea of the internal structure of political elites in Ukraine and how corruption connected with their functioning. Research methods: in accordance with the set goal and object of the research, general scientific and special methods were used, such as: comparative-legal method, formal-legal method, logical-legal method, method of network analysis. Research results and their novelty: Based on the results of the study of global and European anti-corruption standards and finding out the possibility of their implementation in Ukraine, ways and means of improving the anti-corruption policy and existing anti-corruption instruments were proposed, which relate, in particular, to the adaptation of national anti-corruption criminal legislation and legislation on administrative offenses to the acts of the European Union.
