Subject of research: Physical processes occurring in water systems under the influence of physical influences (electric and magnetic fields) and physicochemical methods of water purification. During the implementation of the first stage of the research, an experimental installation was developed for carrying out the process of energy-saving ferritization with electromagnetic activation. The parameters of external factors (electrical, magnetic fields, etc.) on the peculiarities of the ferritization process were determined. The effect of the ratio of concentrations of iron ions to other heavy metal ions in the reaction mixture with different activation methods on the degree of metal extraction in the process of ferritization processing of galvanic waste was determined. The structural features of the obtained sediments were studied. Based on the data of X-ray phase analysis, the qualitative and quantitative composition of sediments obtained as a result of ferritization processing of spent pickling solutions at different values of the initial concentration of iron ions in the reaction mixture and methods of activation of the process was determined. Phase analysis of sediment samples allowed to establish the presence of δ-FeOОН, Fe3O4 and ɣ - Fe2O3 particles in the structure. A comparative analysis of the influence of the initial concentration of iron ions in the reaction mixture with different methods of process activation on the degree of extraction of heavy metal ions from the solution was performed. It was established that the best quality of extraction of heavy metal ions from pickling solutions by ferritization is achieved with the use of AC-magnetic field activation with an initial concentration of iron ions of 6.6 g/dm3. The parameters of the ferritization process, which achieve the formation of single-phase compounds of magnetite in the sediment structure, have been determined.
