The purpose of the research is the development of mathematical and software tools for forecasting the future nuclear energy structure under conditions of growing environmental requirements and the role of renewables. Research methods – system analysis of large energy systems, mathematical modeling. The life cycle models of the latest and emerging nuclear power units were improved, taking into account the variable operation modes, and the mathematical model of the energy system's generation dispatching to meet load was improved, taking into account the flexible operation modes of the state-of-the-art commercially available NPP power units. The software tools for the development of the projected nuclear energy structure have been improved. Expedient directions for the transformation of the technological structure of the national nuclear power industry have been determined, taking into account the extension of the operating life of existing NPP power units to 60 years, the introduction of new powerful nuclear power units and emerging power units with small modular reactors with the possibility of their flexible operation with daily loading/unloading cycles with significant increase renewable. The structure of nuclear capacities has been developed, which ensures the stability, reliability and efficiency of the operation of the energy system of Ukraine under conditions of growing environmental requirements and the role of renewables.
