The purpose of the work is the development of bench equipment for the study of sawing processes, thermodynamic processes in engines and determination of the external speed, load characteristics and idling characteristics of electric and gasoline chain saws of various capacities. Research methods – simulation of sawing processes, thermodynamic processes in engines and determination of external speed, load and idle characteristics using developed specialized laboratory stands, mathematical processing and analysis of the obtained results. The influence of the use of specialized laboratory stands in conditions of production needs, in repair shops and in higher educational institutions was analyzed. Scientific and technical products were created on the basis of the results of the performed research: a test stand for researching the process of sawing with chain saws, a stand for heat balance tests, a test dynamometric stand. The results of the research should be implemented at logging and forestry enterprises in the Volyn forest complex. The manufactured stands were introduced into the educational process for performing laboratory work in the discipline "Technological equipment of logging and forestry".
