These differences were reflected in different body temperature distributions during sodium nitrite administration. In particular, during nitrite poisoning, the body temperature decreases. An increase in temperature leads to an increase in heart rate, with unchanged oxygenation. Both temperature and administered sodium nitrite affected the lifespan of control animals. In particular, at the same concentration of injected sodium nitrite, the life time decreases from 10-12 minutes to 6-7 minutes with an increase in temperature from 19 °C to 40 °C. Death at elevated temperature occurs at higher oxygenation (80%) than at lower temperature (64%). The heart rate at high temperature during methemoglobinemia increased by only 5 beats/min, while the heart rate of animals at low temperatures during nitrate poisoning increased by 40 beats/min. Free-radical oxidation prevails over reduction both at an increase in temperature and at the introduction of sodium nitrite. Thus, the selected indicators reflect a complete picture of the influence of temperature and nitrite poisoning. Changes were established both with the introduction of sodium nitrite and with an increase in temperature. The results of this study showed that the proposed studies have the potential to further study the level of adaptation of both humans and animals to hypoxia under different temperature conditions.
