In particular, it can create modes with a radially dependent phase, that is, waves with a radially curved front. This suggests that spatial channeling is responsible for the named phenomenon known from experiments on the DIII-D and NSTX tokamaks and which has not had a satisfactory explanation. New properties of energy distributions of ions formed during pulse injection of neutral atom beams have been revealed. In particular, it was found that the distributions can take the form of solitons moving in the velocity space. These injected ions excite high-frequency fast magnetoacoustic modes, which are responsible for ion cyclotron emission not only from the periphery of the plasma, but also from its near-axial region.
