The purpose of the work is to develop a radar with polarization modulation of the emitted signal and polarization-multichannel reception and processing of reflected signals, which will ensure stable detection of power lines, poles, towers and trees in the forward hemisphere at distances up to 1500 m when a helicopter is flying at extremely low altitudes. Research methods - experimental studies, statistical analysis and synthesis, computer modeling. The optimal structure of the radar for preventing collision of an aircraft with obstacles was synthesized to improve the safety of flights at low altitudes, an analysis was made of modern radio-electronic components capable of generating, receiving and processing signals in the 100 GHz band, on the basis of which it is possible to manufacture an airborne radar. The operating layout of the 100 GHz polarimetric radar was developed and studied, its experimental studies and field tests were carried out, recommendations were developed for creating a prototype for flight tests and placing it on the Mi-8 helicopter.
