The purpose of the work is to create methodical recommendations for conducting forensic gemological examinations of diamonds. Development of an optimal research scheme for conducting diagnostic operations with the aim of determining the classification features and individual quality characteristics of diamonds and their compliance with standards. Research methods are general scientific (comparative analysis, interpretation, induction, synthesis), special methods of gemological research (organoleptic, instrumental, separate methods of mineralogy, petrography, chemistry, geology).
