Aim of the study: to create a unified informational system ‘The Forests of Ukraine’ on the basis of the spatial database and free software to be used to analyse and model relations of forest fund dynamics with climate change, level of anthropogenic load and spreading of pests and diseases, forest fires and activities aimed at reforestation and afforestation. Methodology of the study: empirical methods: study, observation, algorithmisation, writing program code, comparison; theoretical methods: analysis, synthesis, forecasting, generalisation. Research is conducted using forestry, assessment, environmental, mathematical and statistical methods. All forest enterprises have the ability to virtually combine forestry information via the Internet to create a common geographic information system. Each of them creates and maintains its own layers of geospatial data. Thus, individual geographic information recording systems integrate, expand and deploy as systems for understanding and interaction. In the current year, changes were made to the website of the “Forests of Ukraine” geoportal; updated forest management data were uploaded; information databases of forest enterprises were merged; functions were added to improve the security system and performance of software products.
