The purpose of the work is the development of hybrid methods of analysis to assess and improve the quality of aquatic environments with regard to the content of organic and inorganic ecotoxicants with increased selectivity, sensitivity and rapidity of their determination, as well as the development of methods to assess the general toxicity of aqueous solutions of ionic surfactants, pharmaceuticals, phenols , petroleum products and other analytes of organic and inorganic nature in raw and purified waters with synthesized sorption materials according to the results of complex biotesting. Considerable attention is paid to the selection and synthesis of sorption materials with specified functional groups, including on the basis of activated carbon, Mg,Fe-layered double hydroxides with different ratios of Mg(II)/Fe(III), and synthesized magnetite, for the extraction and concentration of ecotoxicants from aquatic environments by the method of magnetic solid phase extraction. Research methods are spectrophotometric, atomic absorption with flame and electrothermal excitation, mass spectrometric with inductively coupled plasma, chromato-mass spectrometric, potentiometric, x-ray, sorption, bio-testing. Main results: membrane, electrochemical and adsorption methods of bromide ion removal are considered. Bromide removal by adsorption includes layered double hydroxides, activated carbon, carbon aerogels, and ion exchange resins. Based on the methods discussed above, the best of them have been determined. The synthesis of a new sorbent based on magnetite was carried out and its efficiency in the sorption of bromide ions from water compared with other sorbents was evaluated. The high adsorption capacity of modified magnetite makes it a suitable inexpensive adsorbent for removing bromide from aqueous solutions. Product Description popup.authors Antonenko Olexandr H.
