The object of the study is the historical, theoretical and methodological aspects of the training of athletes in non-Olympic sports. The subject of the study is historical factors and the system of training athletes in non-Olympic sports (coastal rowing, PUMSE taekwondo, sambo wrestling, sports dances, fishing). The purpose of the work is to determine the main prerequisites for the development of non-Olympic sports in the Middle Ages and modern history, which influenced the formation of the autonomy of non-Olympic sports, the formation of theoretical scientific knowledge of the theoretical and methodological foundations of the system of training athletes in non-Olympic sports. Research methods. The following research methods were used to solve the set goal: - analysis of scientific-methodical literature and program-normative documents (domestic and foreign sources); - analysis and synthesis of theoretical material; - axiomatic, idealization, logical, descent from concrete, formalization. - systematic and historical (at the level of comparative-historical, historical-genetic and historical-typological) analysis.
