The most effective means of preventing losses are substantiated depending on the influencing factors. The object of the study is the process of studying the tendency of gasoline to evaporate. The subject of the research is methods of calculating losses of gasoline from evaporation. The purpose of the work is to analyze the main shortcomings and advantages of the methods of calculating losses of gasoline from evaporation from horizontal tanks and their improvement, by taking into account the peculiarities of operation and the dynamics of technological indicators. The work examines: basic methods of calculating and forecasting losses of gasoline from evaporation; losses of hydrocarbon liquids from evaporation and their determination; improvement of fuel loss calculations due to evaporation; the algorithm of the program and the procedure for calculating the actual losses of gasoline due to evaporation are given. The result of the work is the solution of the scientific and technical problem of reducing gasoline losses due to evaporation during storage in horizontal tanks by the method of calculating and forecasting these losses, increasing the safety of their storage and environmental protection. The results of the NDR are used in the educational process during classes on the disciplines "Surfactants in oil and gas technologies", "Instrumental methods of chemical analysis".
