The object of the research is the use of virtual learning environments and elements of distance learning in the educational process to increase the level of formation of foreign language communication competence of students of higher education at NGU. The goal of the work: to theoretically substantiate and experimentally verify the effectiveness of the introduction into the educational process of the National Academy of the National Guard of Ukraine (NA NGU) of pedagogical conditions for ensuring the formation of foreign language communication competence of students of higher education. The results of the study are as follows: – the level of formation of foreign language communication competence of cadets of the Faculty of Humanities at NGU who have completed the first year of study (2019–2020 academic year) has been determined; – the results of a survey of higher education applicants and teachers were obtained regarding the determination of the necessary pedagogical conditions for the formation of competence in communication in a foreign language; – the model of formation of competence of communication in a foreign language is defined; – the method of implementation in the educational process of the use of a virtual educational environment and the application of elements of distance learning is defined; – the existence of the dependence of the level of foreign language communication competence formation of higher education at NGU on the use of a virtual learning environment and elements of distance learning in the educational process was revealed; - created practical recommendations on the effectiveness of using a virtual learning environment in the educational process at NGU.
