The contemporary anthropological paradigm requires a thorough rethinking and correction of the modern understanding of identity, which is possible on the basis of polyvectoriality and multiplicity of the human image. The experience of the world today refutes the image of the universal human, radicalized today in the particular hypostases of its existence. There are two, at first glance, opposite approaches to human identity: transcendental and communicative. The first one proceeds from the fact that human identity exists due to transcendence through a series of constant changes, through transcending its own limits. The second one emphasizes human identity through its communication. However, these approaches, as shown in the study, do not contradict, but rather complement each other.
