The object of research is the processes of production and consumption of EE at iron ore enterprises. The purpose of the work is the development of theoretical provisions of practical solutions for reducing the energy intensity of mining enterprises (methodical guidelines for practical and laboratory classes), which will ensure the improvement of the knowledge and skills of students of the 2nd and 3rd levels of assessment and reduction of energy intensity of iron ore enterprises. Research methods. In the work, the following methods were used to analyze and solve the tasks: system analysis - to generalize previously performed studies on the energy intensity of iron ore enterprises; methods of mathematical statistics - for evaluating experimental studies of electric energy consumption; mathematical modeling - for the study of methods for reducing the energy intensity of iron ore enterprises, methods of autoregressive forecast model, exponential smoothing, neural networks. Methods have been developed and improved: determination of the level of energy intensity, determination of factors influencing forecasted energy consumption, optimization of equipment operating modes, determination of the potential of sources of distributed generation (wind power station), forecasted production of electricity by a wind power station, determination of the shares of each of the distributed sources of energy in the conditions distribution networks, determination of the optimal installed power of distributed energy sources, determination of the optimal place of connection of distributed energy sources to the distribution networks of iron ore enterprises, determination of the predicted energy consumption capacity of mining ore enterprises when implementing distributed energy sources.
