The subject of the research is the statutory regulation of the social welfare of war-stricken internally displaced persons. Research objectives are the analysis and systematization of regulatory legal acts regarding the regulation of the social welfare of war-stricken persons as a way of forming and implementing state social policy. The scientific novelty of the conducted research lies in the defining author’s notions of «internally displaced persons», «the right of war-stricken persons to social welfare», and «social protection of an internally displaced person»; in highlighting the characteristic features of the social protection of internally displaced persons and identifying of the priority directions for improving the state social policy adapted to the current situation and rules of international law. The practical significance of the obtained results is that the main provisions of the research work can be used in law-making practice to improve the legal regulation of social protection of internally displaced persons, taking into account international standards and the positive legislative experience of certain foreign countries, as well as in law enforcement practice to improve the application of the legislation in the sphere of social protection of war-stricken internally displaced persons and when teaching higher education students majoring in 263 «Civil Protection» and 081 «Law».
