Purpose of work – taking into account the results of the analysis of pedagogical theory and practice to determine retrospective and comparativist principles of professional and physical training of officers in the security and defense sector. It is established that the results of the study are that a retrospective review of the development of models of physical training of specialists in the security and defense sector was carried out; the features of physical and professional training of officers in the security and defense sector in highly developed European countries in the XXI century are defined; the organizational, pedagogical and didactic principles of physical training of officers of the security and defense forces in the countries of North America are defined; isolated and justified trends in the training of police officers in European countries. Research work is recommended to be used in the National Academy of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine named after Bohdan Khmelnytsky, in higher military educational institutions of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine, higher education institutions of other military formations and law enforcement agencies to develop normative-methodical documents in order to increase the level of readiness of officers for professional activity, as well as in the courses of retraining and advanced training of officers. Predictive assumptions about the development of the study object – is the professional training of officers of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
