The purpose of the work is to improve the methods and techniques of product design in the oil and gas industry, to optimize design procedures to ensure innovative design activities. Research methods – mathematical and computer modeling, system analysis using applied software products, geometric modeling. The work is aimed at the development of methods of geometric and computer modeling of objects and processes in engineering, parts of oil and gas industry equipment; improvement of information support and activation of innovative project activities of organizations of industry field. An information system for ensuring team project activity is proposed. Rules and regulatory documents were studied, proposals were formulated regarding the necessary universal geometric description of oil equipment elements for use in CAD. The geometric features of the surfaces of the equipment parts were studied in order to propose changes in the technological processes of the oil and gas industry.
