The object of the study is the monastic ensembles of the Boldyn Hills. The purpose of the study is to find out the modifications of the historical territories of Chernihiv in the context of historical, cultural, and social discourse; to determine the features of immovable objects and related movable monuments; to find out the influence of Chernihiv's architecture and determine its significance. Research methods - historiographical analysis - to clarify the results of previous studies, to highlight the problems and prospects of the study; problematic and chronological - in reconstructing the sequence of historical events, identifying key issues in the socio-cultural history of the city, clarifying the role of monastery centers in the development of the city and the creation of its architectural face; historical and comparative - to clarify the peculiarities of the existence of monasteries in the urban environment and to highlight the role of these centers in creating cultural areas. As a result of the archaeological, architectural, and art history research, factual material was accumulated, which made it possible to clarify and supplement the existing information about the development of Chernihiv in different periods, and created the basis for adjusting the existing knowledge about the decoration of religious and civil buildings, movable and immovable monuments under the protection of the reserve. The collected and processed materials formed the basis of scientific publications by the staff of the reserve, were presented in reports at scientific forums of various levels, and were used to modernize the museum exposition, the content of excursions, and propaganda and educational materials.
