Research Object: The history of regional architecture and urban planning in Western Ukraine. Research Objective: To develop scientific principles and methodological recommendations for effective methods of preserving traditional regional architecture and urban planning in Western Ukraine as objects of cultural heritage. Research Methods: The principles of historicism, scientific-systemic approach, comprehensive analysis, observation, comparison, generalization, methods of identification, verification, special professional methods such as graphic and photographic documentation, modeling, prototyping, as well as typology and systematization. 1. The study presents valuable objects of the Baroque era that played a role as urban elements in historical cities. At present, there is an issue with determining their place and role in urban planning when founding a city or complex and during future city reconstruction or modernization. Analyzing typical urban formations in the Ivano-Frankivsk region, it was found that some of them were considered objects of historical and architectural heritage and were not the subject of comprehensive research of the compositional and spatial-planning structures of historical cities, while some objects were entirely neglected by architectural and urban planning research. 2. The evolution of information and communication technologies and the total digitization of all spheres of modern society have had a revolutionary impact on the field of architectural design, leading to the need for improving educational tools and existing pedagogical approaches in the education of future architects. 3. Recreational activities include a comprehensive system of human life activities aimed at improving health and satisfying spiritual needs.
