Based on the main idea of the project, which was the statement that the influence of hydrogen on the strength and performance of low-alloyed steels is realized through physical and mechanical mechanisms of interaction of hydrogen with defects of various scales, it was established for the first time that even the short-term presence of diffusible hydrogen of low concentration in steels leads to irreversible changes in the structure of the material, namely, significantly increases its defectiveness. Results of the project can be used for the preparation, scientific support, and implementation of large-scale technical projects for the creation and safe operation of critical objects of the hydrogen energy infrastructure. They are also applicable in the development of relevant regulatory documents in this field.
