The fundamentals for designing Ag@M bimetallic nanoparticles of a given composition and geometry by galvanic replacement were developed. The dependences of the composition and geometry of Ag@M nanoparticles on the conditions of galvanic replacement (the nature of the metal (M = Au, Pd, Pt), the composition of the solution, the temperature, and the duration of the process) were determined. The sensory properties of Ag@M nanoparticles to heavy metal ions and molecules of organic substances, as well as the catalytic properties in the oxidation of organic substrates with environmentally friendly oxidants, were established.
