Registration Date 12-12-2023 Organization Ethnology Institute of National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  The rich heritage of making technologies of Western Ukrainian and Lithuanian ethnographic textiles, and its regional originality, formed during the centuries of historical development and in the present, is explored as the research result of the project. For the first time universal and distinctive features of technological parameters (raw materials and their processing, tools, making techniques, and methods) of woven and netting items from Western Ukraine and Lithuania were comprehensively investigated in a comparative aspect; the current state of the textile industry and the prospects of using ancient technologies in it are found out. It was set up that the technologies of making fabrics and woven items laid down in the past and inherited from previous generations served as the basis for forming a wide range of artistic features understood from an aesthetic point of view. According to the research results, universal and unique technologies features of the ethnographic textiles from Western Ukraine and Lithuania, the dynamics of penetration of innovations into textiles are traced.
