Their administration restored the expression levels of CSE and 3-MST in the heart of old rats to the level of adult rats and significantly increased the levels of hydrogen sulfide in the heart tissue and mitochondria of old rats. For the first time, it was shown that administration of PAG and L-cysteine to old rats significantly improved the recovery of the function of the ischemic heart during reperfusion, and was accompanied by a reduction in oxidative stress and restoration of constitutive nitric oxide synthesis.
