The aim of the project is to create new and generalize known mathematical models of the spread of infections, their solution, analysis of epidemic data, projections in order to prevent and minimize the consequences of epidemics; calibration and implementation of developed models for analyzing and decision support regarding the spread of the COVID-19 epidemic and future epidemics of infectious diseases in Ukraine. The report presents an overview of mathematical and statistical models of the spread of infectious diseases; analysis of statistical data on the course of COVID-19 in Ukraine; development of methods for estimating of the excess mortality associated with COVID-19 and estimating general and regional excess mortality for Ukraine; research on integration and obtaining analytical solutions of the reaction-diffusion equation, which describes propagation of infection in space and time; development and application of a computer algorithm for solving reaction-diffusion equations; development of methods of calibration of the parameters of the age-distributed compartmental mathematical model of the spread of the epidemic; application of mathematical models to statistical data in Ukraine.
