Registration Date 13-12-2023 Organization National Technscal University of Ukraine "Kiev Polytechnic Institute". popup.description2  The report for this stage of work is laid out on 186 pages, contains 119 illustrations, 10 tables and a list of references containing 82 sources. The object of research is composite materials in the system VES-(WCW2C)/(B4C–TiB2). . Research methods - spark plasma sintering (IPS), cold gas dynamic sputtering, electron microscopy with micro-X-ray spectral analysis, X-ray phase analysis, mathematical modeling of stresses in composite material, dilatometric studies. As a result of the implementation of the NDR, the physico-chemical basis for obtaining a new class of metal-ceramic composite materials with record high wear and corrosion resistance was developed, which are grains of ultra-hard WC-W2C, B4C–TiB2, TiB2 (hardness 25-40 GPa) monophase and reinforced ceramics with bound by a metal matrix of high-entropy alloys (HES) AlCoCrNiFeTi, AlCoCrNiFe, AlCoCrNiFeV. The new (WC-W2C)-VEC composites have a hardness of 93 HRA (HV 17-20 GPa), which is significantly higher than that of traditional hard metals WC–Co. In addition, the crack resistance of Palmqvist reaches 17 MPa·m1/2, which is 15-20% higher than that of most hard alloys. The average value of the hardness of the obtained new composite materials (B4СTiВ2)–ВЕС reaches a hardness of HV 25 GPa, which significantly exceeds the hardness of traditional hard metals WC–Co. The resulting composites have high wear resistance characteristics and, thus, are an alternative to hard alloys for strengthening the surface of rolling rolls, protecting against wear parts of earth-moving agricultural and military machinery, in units and devices of special military and civil machinery, in metalworking tools, gas and oil extraction, mining and metallurgical equipment.
