Registration Date 13-12-2023 Organization Institute of Feed and Agriculture of Podillya of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2  The evaluation of promising breeding material of lowland cereal perennial grasses was carried out to create varieties with signs of their suitability for lawns, sports grounds, etc. Breeding samples of variegated fescue, blue fescue, furrowed fescue, thin-leaved fescue, and bent fescue with a decorative score of 7-8 points from spring to fall were identified. The highest seed yield of thin-leaved fescue was found – 70.7 g/m2; bent fescue 65.6 g/m2 and variegated fescue - 65 g/m2. Selected breeding samples of meadow fescue with high decorative values (8-9 points) and design coverage before mowing of 80 %, after – 87 %. Of these, No. 2-4-7-9 under the name Intenso was submitted in 2023 for qualification examination in the State Variety Testing System (application No. 23375001 of 15.11.2023). It is characterized by high decorative qualities: total in spring and autumn - 8, in summer – 9 balls, drought resistance – 8 balls, productive longevity 8-10 years.
