VI Vernadsky National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Research was performed on the synthesis of composites based on carbon particles and nanosized cerium dioxide by homogenizing individual components. Their physicochemical parameters and biological activity were also investigated. It was established that the formation of the composite occurs both due to the adsorption of CeO2 nanoparticles on the carbon surface and due to electrostatic interaction. The appearance of cerium dioxide in the composition of the composite changed the surface charge to a positive one, and the stability of aqueous suspensions based on composites increased with an increase in the concentration of CeO2 in the composite. Biological studies of the synthesized composites have shown that they are non-toxic and localized in cells, mostly in the intercellular space and near the cell surface.
