The conducted mathematical modelling and numerical studies confirmed the effectiveness of the use of the slot partition. These processes additionally contribute to mixing, which proves the intensification of the mixing process. A new construction of a water-conducting combined horizontal sump was studied, which allows increasing the efficiency of natural water purification. The conducted experimental studies made it possible to calculate the number of thin-layer blocks (modules) to be arranged in a horizontal sedimentation tank to achieve the planned clarifying effect. The analysis and feasibility study of the improved technology for increasing the efficiency of water purification by the "Donets" water treatment complex due to the introduction of membrane ultrafiltration purification of natural water was performed. Based on the analysis and research conducted, the expediency of using modern technology of two-stage ultrafiltration on membranes has been proven. The issue of guaranteed high-quality water for the consumer all year round will be resolved, and environmental friendliness will be ensured in relation to the treatment of sediment and the reduction of aluminium content in it. Prospects for increasing the productivity of the methane generation process during the processing of organic waste by co-fermentation of sewage sludge with organic industrial waste are given. The results of an experimental study of the process of fermentation of sludge from sewage treatment plants in Kharkiv showed promising directions for increasing methane generation, methods and technological measures for the implementation of this task are given.
