The purpose of the work is to determine the efficiency of extraction of heavy metal ions from aqueous solutions by capacitive water deionization systems. Determination of the contribution of ion drift and diffusion to the process of capacitive deionization of aqueous solutions. Production and adjustment of the CDI module for the purification of aqueous solutions from heavy metal salts. The main scientific results are as follows: - it was theoretically shown for the first time that the filling of the carbon electrode with ions (and its liberation from ions) occurs mainly due to diffusion. - for the first time on the manufactured and configured CDI module for the purification of aqueous solutions of heavy metal salts, it was shown that the concentration of ions (Be, Cr, Mn, Fe, Ni, Cu, Zn, As, Se, Ag, Cd, Sb, Ba, Tl, Pb and U) decreased by two orders of magnitude within 50 min. At the same time, the concentration of ions decreased by 90% in the first 10 minutes.
