An analysis of national standards and regulatory documents, as well as standards from the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), has been conducted. These standards are dedicated to calculating the capacity of high-voltage power cable lines and calculating electric currents induced in cable shields during grounding. The impact of the cable line grounding method on its transmission capacity has been investigated, resulting in corresponding quantitative assessments and the identification of ways to increase cable line transmission capacity. An analysis of methods for modeling the thermal field of underground power cable lines has been carried out. The thermal field of the cable line has been studied in the presence and absence of shielding elements, establishing a quantitative relationship between electromagnetic and thermal processes in cables. As a result of the project's first stage, three scientific works have been published, including an article in the foreign scientific journal "Problemele Energeticii Regionale," indexed in the Scopus and Web of Science scientific databases. Additionally, two papers have been presented at scientific conferences organized by the G.E.
