The subject of the study is juvenile delinquency in Ukraine. The goal is to highlight the theoretical and practical problems of juvenile delinquency, as well as to develop recommendations for improving criminal procedural legislation to create conditions for the best possible protection of the interests of juveniles. The set goal led to a number of research tasks: to determine the factors affecting the formation and development of minors; clarify the place of criminal proceedings against minors in the system of criminal procedural law; to outline the main provisions of criminal proceedings against minors in the criminal procedural legislation of Ukraine; clarify the problematic issues of participation in criminal proceedings against minors by a defense attorney, legal representative, psychologist, teacher, and doctor; deepen theoretical issues and improve practical methods of proof in criminal proceedings against minors; to characterize the problems of ensuring the rights, freedoms and legitimate interests of a minor suspect, the accused when measures to ensure criminal proceedings are applied to them; to identify problematic issues of applying the norms of criminal procedural legislation by investigators and prosecutors at the stage of pre-trial investigation of minors; outline the procedural features and problems of improving court proceedings in the first instance regarding minors; characterize ways of further development of criminal proceedings against minors. Both general and special methods of scientific knowledge were used during the research. The scientific novelty consists in the development of theoretical and practical recommendations regarding criminal and criminal procedural legislation, taking into account the problems of criminal proceedings against minors.
