The purpose of the work is to formulate scientific proposals of the main directions of architectural and urban improvement of Ukrainian cities, based on the analysis and systematization of the latest global trends in the development of urban infrastructures in the conditions of a post-industrial society; development of principles and methods of architectural and urban planning improvement of urban infrastructures and their elements in the context of ensuring the sustainable development of the city Research methods – environmental approach, structural analysis of qualitative characteristics of architectural and urban planning nodes, compositional analysis, method of scientific interpretation, methods of data sampling and systematization. The main scientific proposals of research into the development of urban infrastructure elements have been identified and the main current tasks have been formulated in the context of ensuring the sustainable development of the city. The importance of solving the tasks of urban infrastructure development in the context of ensuring the sustainable development of the city is substantiated. The methodological principles of solving the relevant tasks are disclosed. The results of scientific research can be used by state institutions and private firms in Ukraine in the development of solutions for the design and reconstruction of the architectural environment of the city, as well as primary institutions of the architectural and construction profile.
