The influence of the process of rethinking the functional structures of buildings on the choice of modern types of residential and public complexes, achieving optimal subject-spatial organisation and imagery of various environmental objects is considered. The definition of modern trends and tendencies in the development of new aspects of the architectural typology of residential and public buildings is developed, and the improvement of methods of scientific determination of the typological characteristics of buildings as a form of organisation of applied architectural knowledge in their conditionality by the development of the system of applied architectural science is proposed. Proposals have been developed for the study of architectural environment objects, which should have specific qualities of complexity, dynamism, humanity and integrity.
