Additionally, the study will explore the structural, semantic, word-formation, functional, and stylistic features of neosemantisms in various discourses of modern Ukrainian language practice. The research methods used are scientific and linguistic. Scientific methods include induction, deduction, analysis, synthesis, descriptive method, sampling method, comparison, and elements of quantitative analysis. Linguistic methods include structural, direct components, component analysis, contextual and semantic analysis, definition analysis, periphrase method, stepwise identification of vocabulary, and procedure for calculating the functional potential of innovations. As part of the initial stage of the work, we prepared the first (theoretical) chapter of the monograph. This chapter describes the main aspects of language dynamics, justifies the status of neosemantisms in Ukrainian and foreign linguistics, and develops interpretive methods for analyzing new lexical material. A collection of 392 neosemantisms, comprising 2,347 selected examples, has been compiled from 8,000 contexts of lexeme usage in various styles and genres of early twenty-first century Ukrainian language, in electronic format. The well-founded rules and generalisations are valuable for outlining an objective and holistic non-semantic portrait of the Ukrainian language in the late twentieth and early twenty-first centuries.
