Ya. Yuriev of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description2 Purpose - to create new high-yielding corn hybrids of different ripeness groups, adapted to environmental stressors, resistant to diseases and pests, deployment of seed production in all sectors and introduction of new hybrids in production in different regions of Ukraine. Methods - breeding, phytopathological, genetic, statistical. Breeding selections and crossings to create starting materials were carried out by conventional methods. Hybrids ‘DN Zorian’, ‘DB Khotyn’, ‘DN Veld’ were taken as the check hybrids. In 2021, primary seed crops to create and maintain starting materials covered an area of 2.44 hectares and hybridization plots to harvest certified seeds were also laid out (10 hectares0. In 2021, hybridization plots for eight zoned corn hybrids bred at the Yuriev Plant Production Institute of NAAS were arranged in 6 oblasts of Ukraine on 185.0 hectares; 4,255.00 kg of seeds of parents and 24,357.0 kg of hybrid seeds were sold. A medium-early grain corn hybrid, Damir, which is resistant to biotic and abiotic factors, was submitted for qualification examination. 2.3 tons of basic seeds of parental forms of hybrids were harvested from 2.30 hectares and 21 tons of certified seeds of F1 hybrids ‘Zorianyi’ and ‘Leleka MV’ were harvested from 10 hectares. In 2022, the hybrids were tested in the scientific crop rotation fields of Ustymivka Experimental Station of Plant Production of the Yuriev PPI NAAS (Poltavska Oblast, Hlobinskyi District). An early-ripening grain hybrid, ‘Kha Kvinta’, which is resistant to biotic and abiotic factors and yields 10.0 - 12.0 t/ha of commercial grain with harvest moisture of 15 - 18%, was submitted for qualification examination. In 2023, corn was sown on 6.0 hectares. The area to create and maintain the original material was 3.0 hectares. A medium-early grain corn, Lopan, which is resistant to biotic and abiotic factors in the steppe, forest-steppe and woodlands of Ukraine, was submitted for qualification examination Product Description popup.authors Muzafarov Nail M Ponurenko Serhii H.
