The purpose of the work is to establish the complex influence of sowing dates of new varieties and hybrids of sunflower, agroclimatic and phytosanitary conditions of the Western Polissia on the economic and valuable characteristics of the culture. The elements of sunflower cultivation technology for the soil and climatic conditions of Western Polissia have been developed: the optimal variety and hybrid composition of sunflower, which involves the use of Serpanok, Agent, and Camelot hybrids; sowing dates: optimal - May 2-11, permissible - April 20-30, risky - May 12-23 May. The highest seed yield was generated by Serpanok sunflower hybrids - 4.13 t/ha and Agent 4.04 t/ha during the sowing period of May 2-11. The best indicators of oil content in seeds were obtained for growing the Agent hybrid - up to 51.8%. The hybrids Serpanok (2.03 t/ha) and Agent (2.01 t/ha) during the sowing period of May 2-11 provided the maximum oil collection per unit area. The best indicators of economic efficiency are achieved when growing Serpanok and Agent hybrids during the sowing periods of April 20-30 and May 2-11: conditionally net profit of UAH 19.3-19.6 thousand/ha (Serpanok) and 18.7-19.0 thousand UAH/ha (Agent); profitability – 64.1-65.0% and 64.4-65.2%, respectively; the cost of 1 ton of seeds is UAH 7.3 thousand/t. For the cultivation of the Camelot variety, the largest conditional net profit of UAH 13.8 thousand/ha and profitability of 48.9% was obtained during the sowing period of May 2-11.
