The purpose of the work: to obtain, characterize and investigate the functional activity of peptides from the Antarctic krill Euphausia superba regarding the potential impact on metabolic processes associated with the development of acute coronary syndromes (processes in the hemostasis system, the state of hyperglycemia and the development of obesity). Research methods: biochemical (electrophoresis in a polyacrylamide gel, enzyme immunoassay, spectrophotometric methods, aggregometry), methods of statistical processing. As a result of the combination of methods of enzymatic hydrolysis under the action of trypsin and ultrafiltration on membranes with a cut-off capacity of 5 kDa, a fraction of hydrolyzable peptides was obtained from the lyophilizate of the Antarctic krill Euphausia superba, and some of their biological activities and effects on model systems in vitro and in vivo were investigated. In particular, a study of the biological effects of peptides with a molecular weight below 5 kDa was conducted on a model of obesity in rats, and it was established that the consumption of hydrolyzed peptides from Antarctic krill caused an improvement in the general metabolic status of the body, which was manifested in a decrease in body mass index and body weight gain at the end of the experiment in compared with the results in the group of obese animals. Such results may be partly the result of a decrease in the desire of animals to consume high-calorie feed. Product Description popup.authors Efimenko Tetyana I. Vovk Tetyana B. Halenova Tetiana I.
