The research objective is to determine the main sources of POPs emissions in Ukraine and to develop recommendations to prevent/reduce emissions in metallurgy, energy, and waste processing. The research method is calculation and analytical approach. Results: An expert assessment of POPs emission volumes was made in accordance with the updated lists of POPs emission sources and emission coefficients established by the Guidlines of the Stockholm Convention on POPs. The largest sources of POP emissions in Ukraine are sintering production and electric arc melting of scrap in metallurgy; production of thermal and electrical energy from biomass in the energy sector; incineration of solid household and hazardous waste. Basic organizational and technical measures to reduce POPs emissions in metallurgy and heat and power generation energy are determined.
